Ningbo Funde Energy Co., Ltd. is a green, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and efficient energy enterprise, and one of the largest methanol-to-low-carbon olefins (MTO) companies in China. Headquartered in Ningbo Petrochemical Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhejiang Province, the company focuses on chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing as its core business, with main products including ethylene glycol and polypropylene. It also engages in the production of hazardous chemicals, sales of chemical products and steam supply. Relying on China's independent core technology of Dimethyl Ether to Olefins (DMTO®) and combined with a number of mature supporting processes at home and abroad, the company has built a series of key installations such as 1.8 million tons/year methanol-to-olefins, 600,000 tons/year olefin separation, 500,000 tons/year ethylene glycol and 400,000 tons/year polypropylene, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan. It possesses large-scale and high-tech production capacity.

Solution Description:

The original configuration of the system was PCS7 v7.1+SP3, with CPU417-4H as the core controller, ET200M as slave stations, multiple Modbus communication links, and third party slave stations connected via Y-link. Wellthinic Technology carried out a comprehensive upgrade and transformation of the system:On one hand, it upgraded the original PCS7 v7.1+SP3 to the latest PCS7 v10.0, and simultaneously replaced and upgraded the engineering stations and operator stations. This achieved an all-round improvement in system functions, compatibility, and operational stability, meeting the requirements of modern production management and control. On the other hand, for an existing on-site remote explosion-proof operator station that was matched with foreign equipment and unavailable for normal use, Wellthinic Technology innovatively adopted KVM technology combined with domestic explosion-proof screens, successfully and perfectly restoring the core functions of the remote station. This not only solved the pain points of difficult maintenance and poor adaptability of foreign equipment but also greatly improved the convenience and reliability of production operations, providing strong support for the efficient and stable development of the enterprise's production.

Implementation Effect:

  • Leveraging the latest hardware and Windows 10 (WIN10) operating system to build engineering stations and operator stations, technically eliminating the incompatibility issue between new equipment and old systems/software after the failure of legacy equipment, and ensuring system compatibility and stability.

  • Through technological innovation, we have achieved the localization of remote explosion-proof stations, overcoming challenges such as high equipment costs and replacement difficulties, and resolving the technical bottleneck of key equipment.

  • With a precise technical transformation strategy, we prioritize addressing the customer's core needs with limited resources, enabling the extruder system to resume healthy operation and gain maintainability through technical upgrades at the optimal cost-performance ratio.
