Angel Yeast is a leading enterprise in China's yeast industry, focusing on providing safe, high-quality, and innovative yeast and its derivative products for global consumers. Angel Yeast started the digital factory pilot in 2018 and rolled it out to multiple factories, and the intelligent quality control ability of production has been steadily improved. Wellthinic Technology assisted Angel in building a digital factory, covering the entire process from the raw material procurement into the factory to the finished product delivery, achieving a significant improvement in the digital level of the production line. It was selected for the "2018 Intelligent Manufacturing Comprehensive Standardization and New Model Application Project" jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Solution Description:

The digital factory solution for Angel Yeast created by Wellthinic Technology integrates OT (Automation) + IT (Digitization) technologies to achieve intelligent control of the entire biological fermentation process. At the automation level, it realizes precise control of key parameters such as temperature, pH value, dissolved oxygen, and stirring speed for core equipment such as fermentation tanks and seed tanks, ensuring the stability and reliability of the fermentation process. The IoT platform uses an industrial-grade sensor network and edge computing devices to establish a data collection system covering the entire production process, real-time monitoring of equipment operating status and process parameters, providing a high-quality data foundation for upper-layer applications. With the MES system as the core of production control, it integrates four functional modules: planning and scheduling, electronic batch records, formula management, and work order execution. Through precise weighing and distribution management, it ensures the accuracy of raw material ratios and supports the correlation analysis of process parameters and quality data. The WMS system is responsible for the entire process logistics control from raw material warehousing, side-of-line warehouse management to finished product delivery. It works with the MES system to achieve precise material distribution and optimizes the material flow efficiency in the workshop through the AGV automatic material calling and delivery function.

Implementation Effect:

  • The deep combination of side-of-line warehouse management, weighing and distribution, and material feeding modules can completely avoid material feeding errors and ensure the stability of product quality.

  • The deep integration of formula management, material management, and key process parameters in the production process eliminates the risks of manual input errors and record tampering.

  • The overall production efficiency is increased , especially in the process transfer.

  • The coverage rate of electronic batch records is increased , effectively avoiding errors caused by manual records and saving a lot of manual time.

  • The efficiency of periodic material inventory is increased dozens of times, from the original 1 to 2 hours to a few minutes.
